Emulating Vintage Samplers in Maschine
In this tutorial, we learn to emulate the coveted sound of vintage samplers like the Akai MPC60 and e-mu SP1200 in Maschine’s sampler.
This tutorial covers how to emulate the coveted sound of vintage samplers like the Akai MPC60 and e-mu SP1200 in Maschine’s sampler. Using the different sampling engines available in Maschine, we can easily emulate these using the MP60 and S1200 modes, respectively, with just one click. Using the same engine on all sounds in Maschine can lend the entire groove the feel and sound of these vintage samplers.
Using the the FX/Filter section of Maschine’s sampler, we can actually move beyond far these preset emulations, with many more controls. Many producers simply sample sounds, especially Roland drum machines like the TR-808 and TR-909, through their vintage samples, but the sound design possibilities through the FX/Filter section of Maschine’s sampler are even more powerful.
