Developing Drum Loops with Maschine
In this week’s Quick Tip, I cover some additional sounds to add to a basic drum loop as well as effects to tie everything together.
Sometimes it can be challenging to move beyond a basic kick/snare/hihat drum pattern. There are endless unique sounds that you can add to your loops to develop them and keep them interesting. In this video, I show how additional snares, shakers, tambourines, and cymbals can be integrated into a drum loop.
Once my loop sounds a bit more developed, I add saturation and reverb on the group level. It’s not always necessary or even helpful to add these two effects, but it’s worth trying them in your own projects. Also try experimenting with some of the other Maschine effects!
