Use Pro Tools Automation To Control Any Kontakt Parameter

Use Pro Tools Automation whenever you need to control any parameter of an Instrument from Pro Tools, you can easily pick and assign the appropriate automation source from the Auto tab of the Browser. This video tutorial will show how.

Automation is an important tool for creating polished mixes. You can use it to fix problems, introduce and enhance effects, and to vary the mix levels throughout different sections of a song. As it pertains to Kontakt it can be used control any parameter.

At the top of the Auto tab, two buttons allow you to switch between the list of automation sources that are provided by Pro Tools. To assign a source parameter just select a source from the list and drag it onto a knob whose parameter you want to automate.

You can edit assignments and their parameters by selecting them in the list. If the selected item is assigned to one or more parameters, these will show up in the list below. At the bottom of the pane, you can adjust some parameters of the assignment that’s selected in the lower list.
