In part 2 of this series learn how to go a little deeper into the FM8 envelopes and use the Cut Off and Pitch Envelopes to make complex looped sounds.
Last week in Part one Johnny went over the basics of the FM8 envelopes and how you can use them to have more control over your sounds. This week he shows you how to use the Cut Off Envelope and the Pitch Envelope.
The great thing about the FM8 envelopes is how flexible they are. You can almost use them like LFO’s (similar to the LFO Tool) because you can input numerous points in each envelope and loop them to create some really complex sounds. You can also create glitches and riser effects using the Pitch Envelope. Just the fact that FM8 as an envelope dedicated to pitch is crazy.
Even though it might seem a little tedious, getting to know all the features of the FM8 envelopes can really help you create new and unique sounds.
