Heavy Electro with FM8 - Bass Sounds
Welcome back to this weeks original member tutorial. This week Jonny is starting a new series with a focus on sounds for heavy electro, and he is not holding anything back. These sounds are killer! If you’re into heavy electro or dubstep, you will love this tutorial!
In this first video, Jonny presents a great sounding track, in which, he demonstrates how he created the bass portion of the loop. The bass is comprised of two different sounds. One is a pluck based bass sound that utilizes 4 operators that have been fed through the filter. The other bass sound is a wobbly bass that takes advantage of all 6 operators to create a wide, dirty sounding bass.
Once the bass sounds are completed, Jonny shows us some of his post-FM8 processing techniques. Using some standard techniques like side chain compression and equalization, Jonny cleans up the track to make a professional sounding track.
Keep an eye out for next week’s tutorial, when Jonny continues with his awesome track. Next time showing us how he created the chord based sounds, and the pitch stabs.
We hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Hopefully you were able to learn some new techniques or FM8 knowledge. Like always, if you have any questions or comments feel free to let us know! We love bringing quality tutorials to the community, and your feedback is much appreciated.
