Sometimes I forget that FM8 has effects. I think it may be because they are not laid out in the most intuitive of ways, but I am always pleasantly surprised when I find myself reaching for them. In this tutorial, learn how to use overdrive, psyche delay and reverb in what I think are the quintessential effects for almost any sound made in FM8.
I walk you through how to create a slap delay that can be used to fatten up both leads and basses as well as how to incorporate reverse delays into your pad or atmospheric sounds.
I may not want to always admit it, because the knob turner in me likes reaching for third party effect plugins, but every time I used the on board effects in FM8 I come away with a bigger and better sound.
