Creating Vocal Chops in FL Studio 20
Everyone knows it’s important to stand out in the ever-expanding world of music-production. Creating new and unique sounds is part of the game and in modern EDM, vocal chops are a popular way to create memorable drops and breakdowns. Creating vocal chops in FL Studio 20 is easy, and by following a few simple steps you can quickly begin to find and make cool vocal textures for your music.
In this blog post, we’ll be focusing on how to use FL Studio 20’s ‘Edison’ tool to create vocal chops that you can use as main elements in your music.
The first step is to find a “vocal source”. This can be an acapella (such as someone singing a vocal line or verse), a sample from a vocal recording, or a section from a song with a vocal part. You’ll need to either import your vocal source into FL Studio 20, or make sure it’s in the same folder as your song project.
Once you’ve imported your vocal source, it’s time to start chopping. To do this, open up the ‘Edison’ window from the FL Studio main menu and select the vocal source you want to chop up. From there you can select the section of the vocal source you want to chop, then click the ‘Chop’ button to create your vocal chops.
Once you’ve chopped your vocal sample, you can start to customize your vocal chops by adjusting the pitch, adding effects, and even automating parameters to create dynamic changes in your vocal chops. You can also export your vocal chops to separate audio files for easy management in a DAW session.
Creating vocal chops in FL Studio 20 is an easy and fun way to bring unique and interesting flavors to your music. Whether you’re a bedroom producer, or a professional EDM artist, mastering the art of vocal chopping is essential to crafting even more unique music and enhancing your sound.
