Certainly less popular than synthesizers and effects, utility modules are highly important in a modular system.
They don’t look exciting at all, no fancy graphics, very little or no controls knobs… They usually doesn’t make any sounds and are often overlooked…
But in fact, utility modules are what will makes your modular system unique ! Because of their respective functions, utility modules will allow you to route your signal through various modules and add or remove various modulations possibilities.
So, if you’re planing on creating your own modular system, after choosing the most awesome synthesizers and LFO’s around, you should take great care about selecting the right utility modules in order to enhance your sound sources modules.
