Using Absynth`s Envelopes as Step Sequencer
In this Absynth Video Tutorial, Absynth`s Envelopes as Step Sequencer, I show you an uncommon aspect of Absynth which is very helpful for creating step sequences.
As you know the envelopes in Absynth are vast and can be extremely complicated. In this video i show you how to use Absynth`s Envelopes as Step Sequencer. The step sequencer can be used to control pretty much anything you can assign an envelope to.
In this instance we use them to control the oscillators amplitude and the filters cutoff and resonance.
Even though in this video we use the most simple commands, copy and paste to move the envelopes to all parameters the beauty of these types of envelopes is that you can have any shapes you wish, they don’t need to be the same which is great for creating a whole host of evolving, interesting sounds.
I show you how to create filter sweeps using this method although just in its most simple, basic form. With a little additional time you can really create complex sweeps and even more esoteric filter movements especially as step sequencers can be used for less than smooth transitions between a parameters specific points.
All in all Absynth`s Envelopes as Step Sequencer is a basic tutorial but hopefully it will open your mind to further and deeper, more complex envelopes and sequences. Using these sequencers can perhaps fill the gap that some people (not all) perceive there to be in Absynth with the lack of Arpeggiators and a more specific step sequencer. Try your best to utilize these step sequencers in your music for more added creativity and melodic depth.
