Build A Track Entirely In Absynth Pt 5 - Advanced Pads

For this guest tutorial in our “Build A Full Track Entirely In Absynth”  Talou Sound shows you a few interesting ideas to get deep and evolving Pad sounds in Absynth 5.

As you might already know by now, pads are the perfect way to glue your songs together, to add warmth, emotion and musicality all at the same time.
In this video Talou shows you how to make a complicated pad sound in Absynth, whereby he uses all of the tricks available!

Using 3 oscillators and several filters you can easily create a interesting landscape of sound, just what our Absynth track needed!

The idea is to use different sound sources (granular, samples, FM, etc.) to get a wide variety of musical flavors.

This will add more depth and perception, you get the feeling that there are a lot of things going on in the background, while at the same time it’s one consistent sound.

The result of this is that your mix doesn’t get muddy, everything is nice and clear!
Subtle is the key though, so you can set up a lot of modulation, just try to modulate subtle amounts. This will keep the sound in motion like a wave at the beach on a sunny day!

In our Absynth track things are starting to look good, we have some nice drum parts and a steady bassline, the mix still need some work though.
I am going to work in a traditional manner where I do all the mixing in the last step of the process,
