Make Granular Loops in Absynth
In this tutorial I show you how to make granular loops in Absynth, this function is not a standard option so we have to do some dirty work ourselves. The best way to do this is using an envelope on the sample start and setting the amount to zero, don’t forget to set the timing to zero on the mod page! This cause the sample to ”freeze” which is good, because we are going to control this manually.
Once you have this set up you can midi learn a controller to scroll through the sample and even add more oscillators for endless fun! And the great thing is, you have only used one oscillator yet, you can do this with two more or get some crazy synthesis going there!
To make granular loops in Absynth you have to know how to set it up, but once you got this covered you will realize that the granular synthesis engine in Absynth is a lot of fun, and a good way to get really unexpected results, you can reverse samples, play them back at twice the speed or freeze them and use the results as an waveform.
Once you have your basic loop going you can add more oscillators that are playing melodies and baselines to fill up the sound. If you have a midi controller I definitely recommend to assign all the fun knobs thats you meet during your Absynth adventure, just jam and play and record everything you do.
I guarantee you will get great results, or creative at least!
Enjoy and thanks for watching!
